Can I shop in-person?

We’re excited to soon welcome you to our in-person reading room experience! For now, we operate exclusively as an online shop, but our plans for a dedicated reading room are underway. Keep an eye out for updates on our journey to a magical, book-filled space!

Where will your reading room be located?

We’ve secured a prime location in the heart of Brunswick, just a short stroll from Sydney Road. Our enchanting reading room will be nestled among cafés and other independent businesses—making it the perfect destination for coffee lovers and adventurers alike!

How much in postage?

Within Australia, postage is a flat $10 for parcels under 2kg. For orders over 2kg, we offer express postage or local pick-up. If you have any questions about postage, please reach out—we’re always happy to answer your questions.

To help you pick your next adventure: smaller tales usually weigh around 350g, while epic tomes can be closer to 550g.

When can I expect my order to arrive?

As we’re a small, enchanted shop, please allow up to two weeks from date of purchase for delivery. We’ll make sure your treasures arrive safely, and we’re here if you have any questions along the way!

Can I return an item?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. Items can be returned if they are in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Do you ship internationally?

At this stage we cannot offer international shipping. However, as we evolve we hope to be able to provide this service as our stories are meant to travel far and wide! 

Are your books new or pre-loved?

We offer a mix of both! Many of our books are carefully curated second-hand treasures that are ready for new adventures. Some are brand-new, handpicked straight from Australian authors, ready to find their forever home.

Can I reserve or request a specific book?

If a book you’re looking for is currently out of stock, reach out to us! We’ll happily notify you when it’s back on the shelves or reserve a copy for you.

If there’s a book you’re after that we don’t carry, send us a message! We may be able to track it down just for you.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

We’d love to help make your gifts extra special! We offer gift wrapping for a small fee—just select the option at checkout and we’ll make it magical.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, we offer gift cards, so you can share the joy of browsing and discovering magical books with friends and family. Please send us a direct message via the 'Send us an owl' page to organise a gift card.

How is my order packaged?

We take great care in packaging your order with both love and sustainability in mind. You can expect your books to arrive safely in eco-friendly materials ready for their next adventure. Because we reuse and recycle packaging, your order may come in a parcel that’s a little mismatched or jagged around the edges, but always clean, secure, and kinder to the earth

Can I buy books in bulk for a book club or event?

At this stage we cannot offer bulk purchases of the same book as we run a small stock. As we evolve we hope to offer this service and would be thrilled to help you stock up for your future gathering!

Do you purchase second-hand books?

Yes, we do. If you'd like to sell second-hand books for future inclusion in online shop and reading room collection, please complete this form or contact us directly to discuss.
